You can bite off more of the soft inner (內部的) part of a triangular sandwich than a rectangular (長方形的) one.

Why are roofs pointed?
為什么屋頂是尖的？
You might notice that the roofs of houses in southern China are pointy. This is because these places sometimes have heavy rain or snow.
很多中國南方的屋頂都是有一定坡度的，因為那里總會有大雨或者大雪。
With a pointed roof, rain and snow will slide off the roof and onto the ground.
如果屋頂是有坡度的，雨雪就可以快速從屋頂“滑走”。
If the houses had flat (平的) roofs, the rain and snow would build up over time. This could cause the roof to cave in (塌落).
如果屋頂是平的，雨雪會堆積在上面，也許會導致屋頂的倒塌！（太危險了吧�。�
